It’s beginning to look a lot like…
…last year: High hopes from trades and coaching, disappointing preseason, season opener against the New York Giants in an away game.
The Redskins only have 2 QBs this season, so the pressure is on for Jason Campbell to perform and NOT get hurt. He cannot get hurt and everyone knows this. The other questions lingering from preseason would be the WR starters, but according to Jim Zorn from redskins.com “If we go with a two wide receiver set, it'll probably be Malcolm Kelly,” Zorn said.
If the offense can at least move the chains with runs by Betts, Portis and newbie Mason and not turn the ball over, the defense needs to step up. Albert Haynesworth needs to show his team his “worth” as well as rookie Brian Orakpo. They need to stop RB Brandon Jacobs and pressure Eli Manning like they did with Tom Brady. I want to see some sacks from these guys!
Hard to really predict an outcome after both teams are leaving preseason at 1-3, but I think it'll be close. At least, I'm hoping it'll be close!
Hail to the Redskins!!
